Mackenzie D. Flynn

Mackenzie D. Flynn joined Thrun Law Firm in 2020. Mackenzie graduated summa cum laude from Central Michigan University in 2018, where she majored History and Political Science and received a full-tuition scholarship. At CMU, Mackenzie was active in the Honors Program, Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Fraternity, Annual Giving student fundraising, and various political organizations. She is a recipient of the 2018 Student Alumni Leader Award and the 2018 Maxine Berman Academic Achievement Award.

Mackenzie earned her J.D., cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law. She was a scholarship recipient and received an academic award in Governmental Relations and Lobbying Law. During law school, Mackenzie clerked at Thrun and completed internships with the Ingham County Probate Court, the House of Representatives Policy Office, and a local financial Institution.

Mackenzie's practice focuses on general school law, business contracts, construction, real estate, municipal law, and public finance and elections. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Women in Public Finance - Michigan Chapter. In 2026. the Ingham County Bar Association recognized Mackenzie as of of the "Top 5 under 35," an honor awarded annually to five young lawyers in Ingham County.

Mackenzie lives in East Lansing with her fiancé and the true love of her life, their doc Jake. Her unofficial credentials include drafting witty School Law Notes article titles, beating Ray Davis in the firm's chili cookoff, and maintaining a deep commitment to reality TV programming.
