Brian D. Baaki

Brian D. Baaki joined Thrun Law Firm in 2024. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Law, where he was a member and editor of the Michigan State Law Review and competed on teams representing Michigan State at national moot court competitions.

During law school, Brian worked at the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office, Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office, and Michigan Department of Attorney General - Children and Youth Services Division.

Brian has a background in higher education. Prior to law school, he earned a Ph.D. in English from the City University of New York and taught in the English Departments at the University of California - Davis, Rutgers University, and University of Memphis.

Brian is a Detroit native and earned his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, before heading west for his master’s at the University of Nevada, Reno. During his time in the west, Brian developed an appreciation for nature. He enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and long-distance running. He also enjoys reading, especially biography and literary fiction.

Brian currently resides in Okemos with his wife and their three children.
