Ryan graduated from Kalamazoo College (B.A., 2007) and Indiana University Maurer School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2011). While in law school, Ryan worked for the National Labor Relations Board, the Indiana Attorney General, and at Thrun Law Firm as a law clerk.

Union's Use of School's E-Mail System Not Subject to FOIA

The Michigan Court of Appeals recently held that personal and union business e-mails, the majority of which were sent during instructional time, were not subject to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA") because they are not "public records" within the meaning of the statute.
