Ryan J. Nicholson joined Thrun Law Firm in 2011 after graduating from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. Before joining the firm, Ryan interned with the National Labor Relations Board and the Indiana Attorney General. During law school, he clerked for Judge Daniel V. Zemaitis of Michigan’s 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Grand Rapids.

Ryan practice focuses on general school law and labor and employment law. He has appeared in administrative hearings before Administrative Law Judges for the Teacher Tenure Commission, and has participated in Michigan Employment Relations Commission proceedings. He has also represented schools in a variety of matters in circuit and district courts.

He is admitted to practice in Michigan and various federal district courts. Ryan is a member of the National Council of School Attorneys, the Michigan State Bar Association, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and the Ingham County Bar Association.

Ryan enjoys almost every outdoor activity including, fishing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and kayaking. He also volunteers to teach high school students through the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s 3Rs Program.
