Katerina M. Vujea joined Thrun Law Firm in 2017. Katie’s practice focuses on labor and employment, litigation, special education, and general school law. She assists public school districts, intermediate school districts, public school academies, and community colleges with labor and employment matters, student issues, and FOIA requests. Prior to joining the firm, Katie spent five years as a commercial litigator at a large firm in Grand Rapids. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Michigan and has represented clients in complex litigation matters at the trial court and appellate levels.
Katie graduated from the University of Dayton (B.A., Political Science and Spanish, 2009 summa cum laude) with distinction as a John W. Berry Sr. Scholar. She attended Notre Dame Law School (J.D., 2012 cum laude) where she received the award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy.
Katie is a member of the National and Michigan Councils of School Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and the Ingham County Bar Association.
Katie lives in Grand Rapids. She is an active member of the Junior League of Grand Rapids, the choir at the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish, and the alumni associations for the University of Notre Dame and the University of Dayton. She spends her free time following her favorite sports teams and enjoying time with her family at the lake.
