MaryJo D. Banasik joined Thrun Law Firm in 2022. MaryJo received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Political Science (B.A., 1993), her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1997), and her doctorate from Michigan State University in Higher Education Administration (Ph.D., 2019). While an undergraduate, MaryJo studied in Montpellier, France, her junior year. As a law student, MaryJo served as President of the International Law Society.
Before joining the firm, MaryJo worked in the higher education sector for seventeen years at Michigan State University and at the University of Michigan.
MaryJo’s practice focuses on labor and employment law, higher education law, business contracts, and general school law.
MaryJo is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Council of School Attorneys, the American Bar Association, and the National Council of School Attorneys.
MaryJo resides in Okemos with her husband, Brad. MaryJo enjoys participating in a neighborhood book club, golfing, playing board games, and traveling.
