Labor and Employment Law/Personnel Issues
Thrun Law Firm, P.C. has extensive experience in employment and labor relations matters including negotiations, arbitrations, grievance process, teacher tenure, employee discipline, wrongful discharge, employee strikes, unfair labor practices, representation issues, wage and hour claims, and unemployment compensation. In addition, the firm provides advice and counsel on personnel policies, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, state and federal civil rights laws, layoff and recall, and non-renewal. The firm’s labor attorneys also are well-versed in contract review and contract interpretation and frequently serve as the chief negotiator on behalf of clients in labor negotiations. The firm has represented clients on labor and employment issues in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies such as the State Tenure Commission, Michigan Employment Relations Commission, Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The firm has eleven attorneys whose primary practice is labor law; we regularly represent public employers in arbitration and other forums. Our reputation is one of successfully representing our clients in all forums. Further, we believe we can best serve our clients by advising them as to the realistic likelihood of success and encouraging settlement or a mutually agreeable resolution to avoid unnecessary litigation costs and liability exposure on doubtful claims.
