Annual and Special Elections
Thrun Law Firm has regularly represented client school districts regarding school elections since it was founded in 1946. Annually, the firm handles approximately 400 regular school elections and approximately 50 special elections. Given the large number of school elections handled by the firm over the past 50 years, the firm has addressed many legal issues pertaining to school election law. Such expertise has established the firm’s reputation in Michigan as the most experienced and knowledgeable law firm for school election law, including such matters as general operating millage, hold harmless millage, Headlee rollbacks, board member vacancies, consolidation and annexation and other school election matters.
With respect to campaign finance laws, Thrun Law Firm has represented several clients at the Secretary of State level, with positive outcomes in all matters. No charges have ever been successfully pursued against our clients, and no fines have ever been upheld in suits brought under this law.
